We often get people call into the shop looking for some leather.   When asked what type of leather they get a bit of a glazed look on their face and shrug their shoulders.

Basically most people don’t realise that leather is tanned for specific purposes.   For that reason I have decided to do a series of articles on the different types of leather as I understand it.

We mainly use vegetable tanned saddlery leather for our products.   There are a lot of leathers we don’t see and have never even heard of such as used in the fashion and clothing trades.
