Broken Hill Outback Whips and Leather

Our Back Yard, The Real Outback

At Outback Whips and Leather Ron carries out his bush leathercraft for all to see and is only to pleased to explain his traditional bush skills to anybody who is interested.

In the mid 1980’s Ron combined an interest in traditional bush crafts with his passion for leather work and started plaiting traditional Kangaroo hide stockwhips. Ron, not content to just plait stockwhips, has mastered the traditional skills of Australia’s great whip makers. He crafts whips sort after by those people who live and work in the outback.

This passion has now developed into a full time business with Ron individually handcrafting a number of bush leathergoods.

No matter if it’s a stockwhip, a custom made saddle, saddle bags or any of the other bush leathergoods Ron produces you can be assured they are individually custom made to your requirements from the finest possible materials
